Hey

So blogging world I think this is it for me. I've been trying to blog since May 26, 2008 and I still haven't found my niche. I even bore myself so I'm sure I'm boring you too! I'm glad I tried it though because I've met some great people. I'm not totally disappearing though as I still plan to read all my favourite blogs and comment occasionally. Who knows maybe I'll be back if I can come up with something good to write about, the only problem is that I'm not a great writer so it still wouldn't be very interesting! ;-) I think I'll just leave it to the experts.

I never did finish putting up all of my vacation pictures. I also never finished talking about getting fit, which by the way I finally got back to and have started the "30 Day Shred" DVD and I'm loving it.

If you've come across my blog because you're looking for info on Amblyopia please check out the blogs on my side bar. They all are great blogs and you'll find them very useful. I do have some posts on My Son's Amblyopia so feel free to check those out. I'll still be checking for comments and emails so feel free to contact me if you like.

Bye for now...

Summer Vacation - Part 3

These are the last pictures from the ghost town. I loved this house. It was really cool because it was made out of glass bottles!

Summer Vacation - Part 1

We had a great time on our summer vacation. We took a trip to Kelowna BC (BC stands for British Columbia if you don't know Canada) and stayed in an awesome condo. Of course I have some pictures to share with you. So my next few posts will be pictures of some of the things we did and places we visited.

These first 4 are of a Ghost Town we went to in 3 Valley Gap, BC.

I have more pictures to share of the Ghost Town in my next post.
Hope you are enjoying your summer!

No Surgery!

I'm pleased to say that my son will NOT be needing eye surgery! He had his appointment at the Children's Hospital yesterday and it went really well. The doctor was impressed with the progress we had made with just our Optometrist that she is sending us back to her for the rest of Jake's treatment. We still need to continue patching 3 hours every day for the Amblyopia. Not sure for how much longer. Basically once he doesn't show anymore improvement for a certain amount of time then we can stop.

It was really great to get the second opinion though. She told us we caught it at the best possible time and the treatment option the Optometrist chose was good. That made me feel a lot better to know we had done the right thing from the beginning.

Canada Day

We had some holiday days because of Canada Day so we took advantage of it and went to visit some family. I took a few very random pictures while we were away. Nothing to do with Canada Day really but they were taken in Canada :) We had a great few days though celebrating Canada Day with family.

Sensitive skin and summer

My little man has mild eczema that usually only shows up in the winter and can be controlled easily as long as I put lotion on him after every bath. We didn't really have problems this winter because we kept on top of it. I've noticed that he's having a problem now and the problem seems to be 2 things, swimming pools and sunscreens.

He's in swimming lessons right now so that will end soon and we won't be at the pool as often. I make sure to wash him well afterwards and put lotion on but it doesn't seem to help. Does anyone have issues with pools also and have any suggestions?

Like me he has problems with sunscreens and any lotions with scents of any kind. I've found a sunscreen that works pretty good for me but the kid version of it seems to be bothering his skin. So I need to find a good sunscreen for kids that's unscented.

I'd appreciate any suggestions you have! Thanks.
